“‚¿‚á‚Ô‘ä‚̏º˜a”

August 28th, 2008

I went to buy some  books this morning from Waterstone’s . Iv ‘ e found a particularly intresting book titled “‚¿‚á‚Ô‘ä‚̏º˜a”

( low  dining table and showa era).

It’s brief history about  Japanese daily life ( daily Japanese) life.

I didn’t know  that it was only during the late Meiji era when Japanese started using low didning table. Until then, Japanese had used individual trays with legs insted of  tables.

At that time , they usually washed the dishes every three days or three times (thrice) in a month.

Instead  of washing the dishes, they would pour hot water or green tree into them after the meal and drink it so that their dishes became clean.

Then they would put them in their own tray and set it aside.

In the early Showa era, the low dining table widespreaded  in Japan.

Our eating habits have become westernized and the use of oil in greasy meals has increased so the dishes must be washed everyday.

Don’t you think it’s extraordinary?

Gourmet Delectations

Locanda Locatelli

I recently had a  pleasure of dining at Locanda Locatelli which I have had high on my wish list for some time now. I’m not going to bore you with details but suffice to say  that Locanda Locatelli’s is a typically modern and fashionable eatery. It has a warm and engaging atmosphere and it always lively, with the definite penchant for a favoured celebrity hang out. This probably explains why the service can occassionaly be a bit erratic, through overall it’s pretty good.

The modern decor suits the food on offer, it’’s ecaxtly  what you might  excpect from a fashionably chic Italian resturant.

The occassional cacophony of jazz can sometimes feel out of place for such a venue, and even if you are not a jazz fan it is soon forgotten. As you might excpect the food is subline, lovingly prepared by Giorgio Locatelli, what else would it be with a talent like Giorgio’s.

The only downside, as if that  were possible, is that it can be a little bit pricey. But this is overshadowed by the sheer dining experience, with itself can only be described as ’simply divine’ .

Zaffarano

In contrast to Locando’s I’m often going to Zaffarano’s, which is one of my favourite resturants, and always a delight whatever the occassion whether dining with friends or an intimate evening for two. Don’t be put off by its humble exterior. I’ts even been said that it is so unassuming you could  be forgiven  for walking by and not realising it. However, all these humble pretences are put aside when you walk through its door’s.

Instead you are greeted  by an enchanting oasis of decorum. It has an ambience of savoir-fare  versus italian chic. The staff are pleasant and very attentive without being intrusive which is an art of its own.

Despite Giorgio Locattelli having left to open his own eatery, Zaffarano’s still Michellin starred resturant and likely to remain so too. Which all means the food is expertly prepared and exquisite taste, though it must be said a little more rustic than that served at Locanda Locattelli’s. The wine list naturally compliments the rustic characteristics of the food aswell as having enough scope to cater for any palate.

These two fine resturants both offer a dining experience to remember. If you are looking for a lively, resonant celebrity spotting energetic time, then Locanda Locatteli’ is  your place. If however, you are looking for a more sedate an intimate spot with a serene ambience then Zaffarano’s definitely your choice. Either way you will be served with a meal to remember and leave you with a night full of possibilities.

Art For the sake of Arts

August 18th, 2008

I had been thinking recenlty that it was time that I had  a rejuvinating  fix of culture. But where should I go?

l could venture on down to the Tate Modern, currently holding an exhibition of Cy Twombly’s work. But then I thought I could visit any children’s nursery  and see more proficient artwork. You make up your own mind!

Or I could take in the National Gallery.

Or maybe as it turned out I could go to the Tate Britian. Here I decided to see the “Lure of the East” a whole new cultural experience as depicted  by various British artists.

Though I must say any slice of culture good or bad is always welcome especially in such difficult times as these with the credit crunch biting hard. And whilst an exhibition of Cy Twombly’s  work may not exactly get the pulses raging, a trip to the Tate is always an exhilarating experience. Who else but the Tate would hold  such an exhibition?

So whatever your taste in art. Whether it is for abstract expressionism or period renaissance or French impressionism or Dali inspired surrealism you can enjoy the exhibition with me and later I could pose as your special muse -; )

Eastern Delight

August 4th, 2008

I’ts the 2008 Beijing Olympics  and unfortunately I won’t be there  so instead, over the coming weeks I’ve decided to pay homage to all things Oriental.

Of course  I’ll be supporting  our British athletes. Go team GB!

I‘ll be enjoying all things to do with Oriental Culture and evoking eastern sensuality.

Then I thought it would be nice to serve up my own special slice of eastern promise.

So while you are up watching the Beijing Olympics why don’t join me in celebrating all things Oriential.

Caballero

July 29th, 2008

I’m so excited, it’s the first night of my dance class. I can’t wait for tonight when I take my first steps on the dance floor. I can skip the light fandango, become overwhelmed by the power of the music and dance the night away in the arms of a handsome caballero. A quick glance at the clock tells me the news I didn’t want to know. It’s just gone past two p.m…., how much longer must this interminable suffering go on. It’s more than five hours before dance class!  What I am going to do? I don’t want to eat, maybe a little glass of wine; red I think, it will help to relax me and I can rest on the sofa.

A little glass turned out to be a large glass, but it helped to soothe my frustration of the time I had still to wait. And feel over so comfortable lying here on the sofa, I think I might just rest my eyes for a moment or two. They do seem awfully heavy.

Signorina, signorina, are you allright? Come, take my hand, I will take care of you. I looked up to see a vision of manhood. He had smouldering good looks, slick black hair and an accent to die for. He was without doubt the handsomest caballero I have ever seen. I gave him my hand and as he took it, the sound of the band began to ring out  the music for the tango.

I was wearing a dress split to the high thigh, underneath I was naked. I was on fire with the passion of the dance. The music thrilled intoxicating me with the rythmn of the beat. I felt alive as I had never felt alive before. He spun me around and pulled me into his warm masculine body, wrappinng me in his mascular arms. I felt at home here as though I was meant to be  here, as though I had always been here. I could feel the warmth of his neck against my breath and with every breath I felt a rush of fervour coursing through my body. I longed for him to take me, I ached with wanting, my ardour almost exploding with the intensity of the moment. Then he threw me out, and as I stood  before him he drew me back in with his brooding, hypnotic eyes burning deep into my soul. It made me swoon and I fell to the floor . I reached up and clasped my arms around his leg, slowly pilling myself  up his body  until my face was against his. He looked deep into my eyes and lent in to kiss me. It was a kiss that was full and strong, passionate and sensual and at that moment all around me was silent.

Except for a rustling noise by my ear and with a jolt I opened my eyes and then reality  dawned on me. It was the damn dog licking  my face. I had rested my eyes for a little too long  it had only been a dream, but what I just  couldn’t make sense of was why I was wearing  this red dress  and where was my under wear??

Baby You Can Drive My Car

July 23rd, 2008

Ever since the invention of the motor car, men have been trying to reflect their personality with the car they buy. Does a fast car compensate for a physical  deficiency in the trouser department?

Does it help to get the woman of your dreams?

He has always tried to assume an heir of importance and substance manifested through his choice of car.

Though this love affair can be sometimes taken to an unhealthy relationship.

Whatever you drive people and their cars depict so many different personalities.

From the super cool to the more mundane, or even plain stupid.

All of us who drive leave a little bit of our personality in the type of car we drive.

But whatever it is remember AyoSue ( London independent Black Escort) will always be there to drive you wild and baby you can drive my car -;).

Cartier Polo Match 2008

July 15th, 2008

Horseracing is known as the sport of Kings, while polo is the sport of Princes, and it is with this in mind that on the

27th July,  The Cartier Polo Match will be held at Windsor. It is an extravaganza that epitomises the high society lifestyle. Royals and celebrities alike will be attending.

So no riff raff thank you!

Its a game of high excitement and expert horsemanship. While they provide the sport we look on often in awe but always with glee, as we imbibe our pimms and champagne cocktails.

But remember ladies it’s stricltly  high heels and lacey knickers, as dressing in style is a must, no matter what the conditions.

See you there Ayo Sue  x

Jazz Nice

July 7th, 2008

Favourite jazz club

At least 2 or 3 times a month I like to venture out to one of my favourite haunts, ‘Ronnie Scott’s’  and listen to some smooth jazz. I like it because you can go as you are, or dressed formal, either way you never feel out of place.

But most of all I like it because you can let yourself become engulfed by the soulful richness as     it gently lulls you into a wistful ambience with its mellifluous tunes.

Or it can send you into instantaneous and uncontrollable bouts of tripping the light fantastic.

However, I know there are those of you who think of jazz as nothing more than a cacophony of noise whereby the notes are played in the wrong order providing exquisite agony to your

ears.   Ah, such is the dichotomy of jazz.

I for one think you are wrong and are missing out on a great experience, and if it’s with Lady Ayo Sue it isn’t just great it’s simply divine.
